Hi there! I’m Jessie! I’m glad you’re here and I’m happy to share a bit of how I got to where I am.
When I first became pregnant, I had no clue where to begin. Being among the first in my core group of friends to start their family I also didn’t really have others to ask about where to start next. Good ole Google was a bit overwhelming, but very fortunately one of the articles I had read had mentioned to look into a doula for referrals. So, I made a call to connect with someone I found in my area and that is probably one of the best decisions I made and so profoundly impacted my transition to parenthood.
Throughout my pregnancy and utilizing the resources my doula shared with me, I found that I had many more options and choices I could make about how I started my parenting journey based on my values and having my birth team who I trusted and honored my values as well. It was with my birth team, which included my midwife, doula, and husband, that I brought two beautiful boys earth-side in my own home.
Pregnancy and birth is a healthy, natural and normal process. Expecting parents deserve to proceed with their pregnancy and birth knowing their options and not feeling judged for making decisions based on their preferences and values.
I felt empowered through my own experiences and so I’ve starting out this doula journey with a desire to help pregnant women learn about their choices and feel empowered in their own journeys. So whether you are planning on having your baby at home, at the hospital, unmedicated, medicated, or are just unsure of what direction you might be going, I am just honored to be by your side and supporting you in this unforgettable period of your life.
