“When I went into labor with my 8th baby at 44 having my first home birth, I wasn’t prepared for how fast and intense it was. After the first few contractions it seemed like they were coming every 30 seconds and I just didn’t understand how they could be coming so fast and painful so soon. It was overwhelming to me. By the time my midwife/team and Jessie arrived I was pretty much writhing in pain. I tried to do all the breathing techniques I had practiced during my last trimester but I didn’t feel like I was doing much as I was out of my mind with how much pain I was in but Jessie kept reassuring me I was doing a good job and poured water over me while I was in the tub. That reassurance really helped me. Jessie is very sweet, kind and comforting. Her encouragement helped me during my very intense and painful 3 hour labor. At our postpartum appt she wrote me the sweetest note that is dear to my heart and I will keep it forever. I highly recommend Jessie as an amazing doula.”
